FAQs | Medcare Diabetes & Obesity Clinic, Bongaigaon

Short answers to the questions we hear most. For anything about your own health, please book a consultation.

Booking and timings

How do I book an appointment?

Use the booking form on our Contact page, call 60031 21297 or send a WhatsApp message to 98642 66191. We confirm your time within 30 to 60 minutes during clinic hours. Requests sent after the clinic closes are confirmed the next morning.

What are Medcare's timings?

Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 8:30 pm. Sunday, 9 am to 3:30 pm. On festival holidays the hours may change, so please call before you come.

Can I walk in without booking?

Yes, but booked patients are seen at their reserved time, so you may need to wait for a free slot. Booking is the better option, especially if you need tests.

What if I cannot come at my booked time?

Please call or WhatsApp us as early as you can so we can give the slot to someone else and find you a new time. There is no charge for changing or cancelling.

Tests and reports

Which tests are done at Medcare?

ECG, echocardiography with strain imaging, patch Holter monitoring, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, continuous glucose monitoring, HbA1c, finger-prick sugar, spirometry, body composition analysis, diabetic foot checks and sleep studies. Blood tests are done at a lab of your choice.

Do I need to come fasting?

Only for some blood tests. Echo, ECG, Holter and most clinic tests need no fasting. When you book, tell us what you are coming for and we will tell you whether to fast. Do not skip diabetes medicines without asking.

When will I get my echo report?

Dr. Das performs the echo himself and explains the findings straight after the scan. The written report is usually given the same day.

Can I get a test without a consultation?

Dr. Das prefers to see you first, because the right test depends on your symptoms and history. If another doctor has referred you for an echo or Holter, bring the referral note and call us to arrange it.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, UPI, and debit or credit cards.

Do you accept health insurance or cashless?

Not for clinic visits. We give an itemised bill so you can claim from your insurer if your policy covers outpatient care. If you need admission, Dr. Das explains the hospital options and you choose one that suits your needs and insurance.

Are fees shown on the website?

No. Charges depend on the consultation and tests you need. Please call 60031 21297 for current charges.

Care and follow-up

Do you sell medicines?

No. Medcare does not sell medicines. You are free to buy your medicines at any licensed pharmacy you choose.

Can I ask a question on WhatsApp between visits?

You can send reports and simple questions to 98642 66191. Treatment changes usually need a visit. WhatsApp is not watched for emergencies, so in an emergency call 108 or 112.

Do you see children?

Medcare looks after adults and older teenagers, including young people with type 1 diabetes. Patients under 18 must come with a parent or guardian.

Do you offer online or video consultations?

Not at present. A first visit needs an examination in person.
